My name is Eliran Bar-On, and six years ago, I was diagnosed with PTSD resulting from my classified military service. The challenges of living with post-traumatic stress disorder reshaped my life, but they also introduced me to a powerful form of healing—oil painting.
Painting became more than a hobby; it evolved into a lifeline that pulled me through my darkest times. Through gallery/" style="color: #5d5e5f !important; text-decoration: none !important;">artistic creation, I found a voice that allowed me to confront my past, express buried emotions, and eventually reclaim my peace of mind.
Art therapy, specifically oil painting, provided me with a safe environment to explore and process the complexities of trauma. Each brushstroke on canvas was a step toward understanding, accepting, and releasing the emotional weight I carried. I discovered that the creative process could bring relief, insight, and even joy amid the turmoil.
My art reflects a narrative of recovery and resilience. By channeling my emotions into visual form, I have been able to transform my struggles into meaningful stories. Each painting serves as a reminder of personal growth, endurance, and the transformative power of art.
Sharing my journey openly is integral to my healing. It offers hope and connection to others who may feel isolated in their battles with trauma. Art has the unique power to unite people through shared experiences, fostering empathy and understanding across diverse backgrounds.
I invite you to experience this journey with me, to see beyond the colors and textures and feel the emotional depth each piece conveys. Let my art serve as an inspiration, reminding us all that recovery and peace are possible, even in the aftermath of significant trauma.
