We Weren't Born in the Right Year | Arik Einstein, Uri Zohar and Zvi Shissel
Sold
'We Weren't Born in the Right Year' is a triptych of three figures who shaped Israeli culture: in the background, in color, Uri Zohar in a red cap and red glasses; before him, in black and white, Arik Einstein with a cigarette and Zvi Shissel with his curls. At the bottom of the canvas, on a yellow band, the line of Hebrew that gave the painting its name. The black and white of memory against the color of the one who stayed, three friends and three worlds meeting on one canvas. Painted in 2022, 140 × 100 cm, oil on canvas, signed with a certificate of authenticity. The painting has been sold and is kept here as part of the series of Israeli figures in Eliran Bar-On's collection, alongside Assi Dayan, Gila Almagor and Yehonatan Geffen.
