'PTSD Oil Painting' is an emotional portrait of a bald man with a grey beard and a red shirt; behind him, against a blue ground, two pale versions of the same face, like echoes that will not let go. The marks on the scalp and the brown shadows on the face are not wounds the eye can see: it is the wound that burns from within. The figure does not merely suffer; he copes, survives and fights waves of memory, fear and volatile silence. The painting grew out of Eliran Bar-On's own life with post-traumatic stress and belongs to the 'Rupture, Healing and Identity' collection. Painted in 2020, 100 × 70 cm, oil on canvas, signed with a certificate of authenticity. Sold for ILS 5,000 and kept here as part of the archive.
