  • שמן על קנבס
  • 70 × 100 cm

'A Gaze of Gold' is a portrait of a blonde woman with her hair gathered high and bare shoulders, against a ground of blue, red and orange arcs. Amber eyes look straight ahead, the lips are red, and a small earring glints at the ear; majesty here is not a crown but posture and gaze. The subtitle, 'majesty within the break', explains the colors: the warm and the cold ground meet exactly behind the head, and the face holds both sides without breaking. One of the earlier portraits in the collection, from 2016, 70 × 100 cm, oil on canvas, signed with a certificate of authenticity. The painting has been sold and is kept here as part of Eliran Bar-On's archive and of the development of his portrait language.

The story behind the artwork

A Gaze of Gold places majesty beside fracture, not as opposites but as two parts of the same figure. The inward gaze moves the portrait beyond outward representation; gold signals presence and strength, while the quiet reveals the complexity beneath the surface.

For collectors and placement
