Sisters in Fate | The Gaze and the Veil

7000 ILS

  • שמן על קנבס
  • 120 × 140 cm
  • 2024

'Sisters in Fate' places two female figures side by side: one with her eyes bound by a bandage bearing the Star of David, the other looking ahead with a clear, piercing gaze. A shared floral crown links them, yet each embodies a different consciousness, blindness against sight, silence against speech. The contrast between closed and open eyes is the heart of the work, and the closeness of the figures turns the female gaze into a shared force of pain and identity. Part of the October 7th body of work, painted in 2024, 140 × 120 cm, oil on canvas, signed with a certificate of authenticity. A large work for a collection of contemporary Israeli art and for a space that wants a painting with a statement. Available to buy or rent.
