The Rupture | 07.10, Between Bloom and Blindness
Sold
'The Rupture' is an oil painting from the body of work born after October 7th. A woman with a colorful crown of flowers stands blindfolded; above her, against the flag of Israel, the date 07.10 and black shadows spreading like stains. A torn grey strip cuts through the face in the middle, as if the painting itself were ripped in two: above, the bloom of a holiday morning; below, the black and yellow hair of what remained. Painted in 2024, 70 × 100 cm, oil on canvas, signed with a certificate of authenticity. The work has been sold and is kept here as part of Eliran Bar-On's archive. Other works from the series are available in the gallery, and a commission in a similar spirit can be discussed.

The story behind the artwork
This work was born from a moment of dissonance. Picture a European town, perhaps Burano, perhaps a dream, where every house is painted a different color to delight the eye. Amid all that architectural carnival she stands, dressed in vivid fuchsia, seeming to blend in, yet her gaze is elsewhere.
For collectors and placement
An original 70 × 100 ס״מ artwork. The work has been sold and remains in the online archive.
